OUDSHOORM TO CAPE AGULHAS

Day 25 when we arrived last night we threw a dart at the wall and came up with the Best Little Guest House for our overnight accommodation.  Much to our surprise it was owned by two U.S. citizens Denny and Eddy.  Eddy was originally South African but in her twenties sailed off across the Atlantic to the U.S. Virgin Islands.  There, some years later she met Denny, who lived in the islands, and they were married and owned a marine refrigeration repair business for 31 years.  Eddy considers herself an American now but when they came to visit her family in 2005 they ended up buying the Guest House but had some one else run it until three years ago when they sold the business in the island and moved here.  We really enjoyed our visit, just sorry it did not last longer.

Also in town was a couple of Harleys that were just passing through to a meet up.

I did a "any left turn", just it was a right again, and had a great ride through a valley with fruit trees blooming.  Along the way I met, Jonet in her front yard.  I had actually stopped to try and get a picture of her aged black gardener with a wonderful face, but he left when she came out.  She invited us in for coffee but Vicki declined. A missed opportunity.  Jonet is a "birther" as she was born in Berkley, and therefore a U.S. citizen, when her parents were in school there. After finishing university in South African she returned and traveled and worked for three years.

The Tradouw's Pass was beautiful with all the yellow bush's but would have been even more amassing in the sun.

Cape Agulhas is the southern most tip of the African continent.
